Design Jam: Prototyping and Storyboards on November 13th

designjamflyer.jpg

It's design jam time again! Our last two browser design jams were a
great success, and our events were featured in a Mozilla Labs blog post

WHAT: Prototype or create storyboards for your ideas for improving or
redesigning Firefox
WHEN: Thursday, November 13, 6-8PM
WHERE: Design Lab 1, Duderstadt Center (North Campus)
RSVP: at the Facebook event

We will also be having a vote for the best mockup or prototype. There
will be great prizes and recognition for the winning team!

Never made a prototype before? Don't worry. There are simple ways to show the interactions of your design. Google Reader in Plain English is a paper prototype created by Google to explain their RSS reader. You can use Powerpoint or tools available on Design Lab 1 computers such as Omnigraffle and Flash to complete your prototypes. If you don't have experience with these tools you should be able to find someone at the design jam that has experience.

Don't have an idea? Here some suggestions for ideas:

  • Pie menus
  • Web browing with a touch screen
  • Browsing through images over the web
  • Bookmarks
  • Tabs
  • RSS, getting news

Submissions should be sent to lizblank@umich.edu and must be received
by midnight on Thursday November 20th.

This event is sponsored by Mozilla and SourceForge.
